koncerten. MTV Europe - The Road to Edinburgh - highlights
The Road too Edinburgh tour kicked off in fine style on Monday September 29
at London’s Royal Festival Hall. Live performances on the night came from
up-and-coming Polish rockers Myslovitz, former Skunk Anansie babe Skin, and the
pride of Scotland, Travis. Myslovitz opened the show, surprising the audience
and gaining plenty of new followers on the way as they stormed out tune after
tune including their recent MTV Network Priority track ‘Behind Closed Eyes’.
Next up was Skin, whose powerful lungs blew the roof right off. She belted out
classics like ‘Weak’, Electronic’s ‘Getting Away With It’, and her latest smash
hit single ‘Faithfullness’. The spunky front woman got the audience hot and
bothered by jumping over the photographer’s barrier and thrashing around with
unsuspected guests in rows A through K. Closing the gig was a much-anticipated
set from Travis, whose set included tracks from their new album ‘12 Memories’
(‘re:offender’, ‘Peace The Fuck Out’), plus crowd pleasers ‘Side’ and ‘Sing’,
which made everyone get up and do just that. Fearless leader Fran Healey spoke
openly about another new ditty of theirs ‘The Beautiful Occupation’, a song
they’ll be playing live at our very own MTV Europe Music Awards 2003 in
Edinburgh. “I pay taxes for education and health care. I don’t pay taxes to drop
bombs on people”, preached the eloquent Scotsman. The next MTV Road to
Edinburgh is right around the corner on October 11 at Birmingham’s Symphony
Hall, starring Britain’s finest heartbreaking crooner, Daniel Beddingfield. (Tekstuddrag fra MTV Europe:
